Guide to the Group Form
Location Panel
Location Panel

The location panel allows you to pinpoint the location of the group, so that we show your group to the local community from which your group takes its members.

Click on one of the three toggles in the togglebox to choose which method you'd like to use to pinpoint your group. The choices are described in more detail below.

Locate on a map

When you select this toggle, a scrollable and zoomable map appears. Simply click the map where your group is based. A red map marker displays the location you've chosen.

The location might be the venue where you regularly meet, or just a road or neighbourhood which you consider to be where you're based. We will show your group to everyone who lives within a certain distance of the place you set.

For your reference, we show your personal home location with a blue map marker.

Use my location

If you choose this toggle, the group is placed at your location.

Note that if you later change your location, it will not change the group's location. To change the group's location, you should edit the group's settings.
Locate by postcode

Select this toggle if you wish to enter a postcode to locate the group.

Note that the location calculated from a postcode is not very accurate. You can check the location once the group has been created by editing the group's settings, and if necessary, adjusting the location manually on a map.
