Browsing events

Whether you're exploring a place, a group or a business, you can discover which events are being held nearby by choosing 'Browse' from the 'Events' menu.

Not sure what you're exploring? Check the title bar.

If you're exploring a group or a business, the events browser shows only the group or business's events

If you're exploring a place, then the events browser shows all the local events, including business events, and those group events which are open to the public.

If you're a member of a group, then when you browse events near a place, the browser will show the events which only group members are permitted to see.
Setting up the search

The browser doesn't display anything until you've chosen what sort of events you want to see.

The events browser is good for viewing a summary of local events being organised, no matter when they're on.

Another way of finding out what events are in your area is to view the events calendar instead, which shows which events take place on each day.
Show

Select which type of event to show in the calendar from the options. If you want to see all the events, then choose the 'all types of event' option.

Show results

There are two ways of displaying the results of your events search:

Select which method you'd like to use.

If you select as a list, you can additionally choose which order you'd like the items to be listed.

If you choose distance, this means the distance from the current place, not from you.

If two of your favourite places are close to each other, then a search from one place will probably return the same items as a search from the other.
